How it works

How we get you recommended

We measure what AI assistants and Google really say about your business, fix what makes them pick someone else, and prove the change every month.

How we measure

Not one question. A proper sample.

One question on your own phone tells you almost nothing: answers change with every wording, every assistant and every day. So we measure the way a researcher would.

40

searches in every free check

150 a month for Essentials clients, 300 on Growth.

12

ways of asking

“Best”, “good value”, “new to the area”, “worth trying” and more, for each of your keywords, your area and your postcode district.

3

assistants, weighted by real use

About 8 in 10 UK chatbot visits go to ChatGPT, so it gets most of the searches. Your score is most precise where your customers actually are.

0

times we mention your name

Questions never include your business name, and they’re asked fresh through each assistant’s official service, so nothing nudges the answer.

Every assistant gets a fair minimum; the rest follow how many people use each one (StatCounter, UK, September 2026).

About the method

Want the background? Read how AI picks local businesses.

Why not ask 500 questions?

Because accuracy grows slowly. Going from 40 to 150 searches makes your score about twice as precise. Doubling the precision again would take around 600 searches: four times the cost, for a difference (say 31 versus 33) that wouldn’t change what we fix. We’d rather spend that on fixing things for you.

Why do some assistants get fewer questions?

Because fewer of your customers use them. ChatGPT carries most of the weight in your score, so measuring it precisely matters most. Every assistant still gets enough questions for a fair reading.

Will my score change if nothing changes?

A little. Assistants rewrite their answers every time, which is exactly why we use a large sample and the same method every month. Small wobbles are normal; real progress shows as a steady climb.

Do you reuse answers?

Yes, for up to 7 days. Because questions never name a business, the same question in the same area gets the same answer for everyone that week. Reusing it keeps checks consistent between neighbouring businesses and keeps our costs, and your price, low.

Is it the same as what a customer sees?

Very close. We use each assistant’s official service with live web search on. A signed-in customer may get slightly different answers based on their own history and exact location.
